Internet Dating and Drama
I’m all for having a good conversation with a friend over the web, or even meeting them in a game or a chat room. But when this friendship leads to “dating”, it just doesn’t make sense. Some people spend so much time online that they’ve gone through ten “relationships” in a matter of days. Makes me worry that if they ever make it out into the real world, they may treat others in the same manner because they get bored with the relationship too easily. Seriously, I don’t want to hear you complain and moan that you haven’t “seen” your internet hubby in two days. Especially since you’ve never seen his face up close and personal, ever! I’ve seen a lot of good relationships end because one or both parties thinks it’s cool to “date” people over the internet because they don’t actually get to do anything with them.
Stop being afraid of a real relationship, instead of balancing a bunch of them through an instant messenger on the internet. Easier to manage? Perhaps. Satisfying and worthwhile? Not a snowball’s chance in hell.
