Things That I Hate

People Who Misuse “Your” and “You’re”

It’s not that hard. “You’re” is a contraction. That means it’s formed from two words (in this case, the words are “you” and “are”). “Your” is possessive, meaning it shows belonging. Just read the sentence in your head before typing it, and if “I like you are shirt” doesn’t make any sense, fix it and stop sounding like a blatant moron. Similarly, if the statement is “your stupid,” and you don’t expect “my stupid what?” in retort, the statement is incorrect and I hate you for being alive.

There’s your first grade grammar lesson of the day. Hope you’re not too offended by my comments.

  1. What happened to you, in your childhood, to make you so angry? You seem to be full of hate and venom. Please don't talk down to people and get help.

  2. Well, I have to agree...and while the tone of the post may be a bit harsh, this is VERY simple VERY basic literally elementary school grammar. People choose to remain ignorant and uneducated, that equals stupidity.

  3. This does not seem to me to be a hateful post. If it seems hateful to you, you’re misunderstanding the tone. The only thing that might offend an extremely sensitive person is the part saying that people who do this sound like morons—which is completely true. The italicized text is emphasizing the correct usage of the words, not talking down to people.

  4. I also agree with Jonathan, this post is not hateful at all, unless of course, you’re a moron.
