Things That I Hate

People Who Try to Give You Salvation

I am tired of the pamphlets handed out regarding salvation and Jesus Christ. I am tired of having to say “no thank you” to nice old ladies who think they’re trying to do me good. I am tired of missionaries knocking on my door asking me to convert. Most of all, they tend to hand these pamphlets to me because of my skin color, assuming that I am not Christian. Firstly, how do you know? Secondly, even if I am not, leave me alone. Respect and follow your own religion, but don’t be so condescending as to think that everyone else has to follow the same religion as you. Also? I hate the idea that human beings are all originally sinful and hateful beings and require salvation from a third party. Human beings have immense potential to save themselves. So stop trying to give them salvation and don’t assume that there is only one path to salvation. Immerse yourself in your religion or spiritual beliefs—but don’t try to force others to be a part of it.

  1. I'm sort of ambivalent to the issue. Most of the time I don't answer the door or phone if I'm not expecting anyone or I don't recognize the number; and I don't force my beliefs on anyone who isn't interested in hearing my views. Live and let live. Be at peace.

  2. I actually think that most of the stuff that is considered "sinful" is actually good and is there for a reason. Cavemen didn't get married, why should I?
