Speeders… But Only a Certain Sort
Speeding is against the law, we all know that, but I think its fair to say that a large proportion of us exercise common sense and can determine for ourselves when it’s safe to do a few miles over the limit and when it’s not.
What gets me riled is the people who will sit at a scenic 45 MPH on a road that is very much suited to a brisk 60–70 MPH. I sit behind them telling myself its no biggy, it’s a limit, not a target, there is no requirement to drive fast, et cetera. I can cope with that.
Then we go past a 30 MPH sign and they continue at 45. Then I get mad. I hate them. Hate is such a strong word, but let’s face it—moronic doesn’t cut it this time. If you’re in a hurry, do 70 in a 60 and 45 in a 30 and be there quicker but risk other people’s health. If you’re not in a hurry, do 45 in a 60 and 25 in a 30, fine, no problem, you won’t hit anyone. THERE IS NO LOGICAL REASON TO DO 45 IN A 60 THEN 45 IN A 30. (This frustrates me immensely, as demonstrated by the capslock). It is more the lack of logic that frustrates me than the delay in my journey. Why do these people do this? Why do they make me hate them such much? *sigh*
