Indirect People

It’s really frustrating when people aren’t direct with you. My friend hasn’t talked to me for a few days and I mentioned this fact to my husband. Well, apparently she told her husband, who told my husband, who told me that she’s upset with me over a stupid comment I made at her party a week or so ago. Why didn’t she just pull me aside and say something to me then? Or call me after the party and tell me? Why am I only hearing about it like this? I thought we were friends, and that means sometimes we are going to say stuff that makes the other person mad, but we love each other enough to say “hey, could you not do that again?” or something.
