Things That I Hate

School

No running in the hallway! No chewing gum! No bad language! No dressing inappropriately! No loud talking at lunch! No cheating! No throwing food! No sleeping! No drama! No fighting! You might as well put us in a box. I mean, we’re kids. Aren’t we supposed to be allowed to make mistakes and have some fun sometimes?

  1. It’s a mix. Kids should definitely have fun. But they also need to learn to behave properly in society. Running in the halls can get someone hurt, and the school doesn’t want to get sued (as they inevitably would). Certain language is socially unacceptable, and parents would be outraged if schools allowed it (again with the lawsuits). Inappropriate clothing is not really the school’s business, though they can restrict it if they want, and probably do to lessen distraction of other students. Loud talking is obnoxious to others. Cheating is just unacceptable. Throwing food? You’re humans, not monkeys—behave with some decorum. Sleeping? It’s daytime. Sleep when it’s appropriate. Fighting—also inappropriate.

  5. If there’s anything I hate in this world, it’s school. Especially elementary school. Like you said, we have no freedom and we’re only kids! The teachers are hypocrites too. They tell us not to do things and then we catch them doing it themselves! Bottom line—school is hell and teachers just don’t get it.

  6. Ha! My school is public and they can’t stop us from doing anything! I’ve gone to school in only a long shirt that barely covered my butt just to spite them and they stay silent.
