People Who Act Like Hating Something They Like Is a Crime
I hate it when I’m talking to people about music and they bring up Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen and I say I hate it and they just sit there, shaking their heads and muttering things at me like I’ve just done something terrible. It’s an annoying song and I hate it with a passion, and that’s my opinion. If you don’t like it, then just shut up, rather than judging me for it.

I judge. You have no taste in music. That’s the truth.
You (the OP) judged first. Someone else said they liked Bohemian Rhapsody, you said that you hated it, and then you accuse them of judging you for hating it. You’re judging them for liking it, they’re returning the favor.
Jonathan, disliking a song does not automatically equate to judging people who do like it. That’s just childish.
Disliking a song does not. Stating that you dislike it when someone else says that they do like it, without asking your opinion, does.
If I were to say you’re an idiot for liking that song, or that anyone who likes that song is an idiot, that would be judging. Just saying “I hate the song†might be considered rude, but it does not equate to passing judgement on another person.
Bronzelike didn’t ask for your opinion.
Touché.
You’re right—it’s not direct judgement of the person when criticizing a song they like.
