Things That I Hate

People Who Ask Me for My Opinion but Have Already Decided

“What would you like for dinner?”

“I don’t know. Pizza, I guess.”

“Well, I’ve already decided we’re having spaghetti.”

If you’ve already decided, why did you bother asking me?

  1. I sometimes am guilty of this when I’m seeking confirmation in my decision—or sometimes, I’m not sure I really know what I want, but when the person chooses a particular option, I realize that it’s not what I want. The example you listed, however, I see no reason for on their part, and it is stupid of them to ask if they already know.
