Things That I Hate

Dear, Skin: You’re Being Unreasonable

I’m so nice to you, but you continue to give me pimples, black heads, dry skin, etc.

I treat you like a princess. I wash you every morning and night, but no more than that, because I don’t want to make you all dry. I place toner upon you so the excess cleanser gets removed. I moisturize with an oil free, gel based moisturizer so you’re hydrated and refreshed refreshed and won’t break out. I treat you to a scrub every Wednesday so you can be soft. I even treat you to an exfoliation mask every Friday to get the dead skin cells off and help regenerate fresh, new skin cells!

On top of that I never eat junk food.

I never spend too much time in the sun without sunblock so you don’t get burned.

I get my eight glasses of water a day, and I drink green tea!

So please, please stop treating me horribly, because I treat you so perfectly.

Thank you.

  1. I think your skin, having no reasoning ability, is incapable of being either reasonable or unreasonable.

  3. I think you are doing too much. That many chemicals applied to your skin that often isn’t exactly good for it. Showering more than once every 24 hours can make your skin dry. Sun is good for your skin unless you spend several hours in it, so ease up on the sunscreen just a bit. Lastly, wait a few years and the natural issues with teenage skin will go away.
