Truth and Lies

If everyone told the truth, the world would be boring. If everyone told lies, we would be too good at lying to be fooled by it. Both can break hearts, and both can start or stop wars. But why in the world is exaggeration such a horrible thing? If I didn’t exaggerate in the stories I told, they would be dull. If I completely lied in my stories, I’d have to make a chain of lies. But lies are more accepted than exaggeration. Why?
