Things That I Hate

I really don’t like homework. I mean, we come to school—isn’t that enough? I just don’t see what the point of doing homework is. And the worst thing is when a teacher gives you homework on Friday and it’s due on Monday—then you have to do your homework on the weekend. It’s just a waste of time!

  1. Doing homework will teach you how to manage your time, complete tasks and achieve goals without someone saying “you have an hour to do this.” After it, you’ll be more independent. When you’ve finished with school, timetables and structured learning go out the window and pretty much so do your weekends. You’ll be learning new things all the time and you’ll be expected to not need your hand holding every step of the way. Do your homework, you’ll be better for it.

  2. In order to learn something you need to practice it. That is what homework is. Without homework you’ll probably be a ditch digger, or if you’re lucky, a 7-11 worker.

  3. I don’t think homework is quite that vital. The problem is teachers who either think that their subject is the most important and assign work accordingly, or who are lazy and hope the homework will teach you so they don’t have to. The latter is worse because you don’t learn from them and they assign random things (sometimes without telling the students) and lots of them because they themselves don’t know how hard it is. I have an awesome teacher who does all the homework he assigns. That should be a requirement.

  4. I believe the contrary is true, co-hater. A lot of students are lazy and not willing to put effort into anything. Most teachers are good, but they have to teach to the dumbest kids so they assign homework to make up for that.
