Things That I Hate

Mobile Phones

I hate it when people live in their mobile phones. If I’m having a conversation with you, don’t snub me by picking up your phone to have an intermediate conversation with someone who you could just as easily call in ten minutes when we’re not hanging out. Why should I listen to a word you say if you’re going to stop talking every few minutes to answer your phone or to text someone? It’s especially horrid when people have the gall to look sheepish and apologize each time it happens even though they do it so often. Either spend time with me or don’t spend time with me. If you really want to talk to someone else right now, then that’s fine, it’s your prerogative, and I’ll see you once you feel like I’m worth your time again. But if you’re going to be half here and half in your phone, you’re just wasting my time and your time.

Did I mention that I also hate it when people put their iPod headphones in their ears in the middle of a conversation?
