When People Talk to Me when I Have Headphones On

Today I was on an eight hour car trip with my boyfriend and his family. I was listening to my music and than his parents start talking to me. Thinking it was just going to be a quick chat and since I didn’t want to be rude, I took out one earphone and answered the question. For the remainder of the trip, they wouldn’t shut up! Can’t you see I’m listening to music? If my headphones are on, just shut up! I want to relax and listen to my tunes, not have to continually pause to hear and respond to people!
