Things That I Hate

Gum

It’s tearing the world apart. I have a pack and people insist on having some. Even if I give it to someone I like, someone else sees it and asks if they can have some too. You don’t even know me, so back off. I’m sick of paying money for something that I’m only gonna get two pieces of because if I don’t give it to everyone, people think I’m selfish. Yet I just can’t stop chewing either, and when I see a pack of gum that someone else has, I want some, but I let them offer it to me first, and if they do, I at least say thank you.

  1. “It’s tearing the world apart.” This is a classic example of the extreme hyperbole used by middle and high schoolers.
