Googling URLs

I get completely frustrated when I tell somebody to go to a website (fark.com, as an example), and they enter the URL into Google. Don’t people know that fark.com is the web address, and that Google is a search engine? If I told them to call 1-714-555-1212, would these same people call 411 or dial “0” for the operator, and ask the operator to connect them to 1-714-555-1212? If the person who did it wasn’t my boss, I would have wanted to punch him.
