Contractions in Essays

It takes about half a second more to type out “you are” than it does to type “you’re”. You are not saving anyone any time by using an idiotic sounding word like “won’t” or “can’t”. Your professors do not want to see contractions, and I do not want to see them when I proofread your papers. Quit it.
