Things That I Hate

Gray Text on Slightly Darker Gray Backgrounds

In the 1990s graphic design was evolving, but it had some minor flaws, such as too much contrast and certain design elements being too bold when compared to one another. Cue the 2000s: Design, in my opinion, has become a little more subtle, with softer relationships between images and text that is much more æsthetically pleasing. However, I hate—nay, detest—when designers try to be so subtle that they use gray text on a slightly darker gray background and you need eagle eyes to read it.
