When People Write “Would of” Instead of “Would Have”

“Would’ve” is a contraction spoken in conversation, and sounds like “would of” when spoken. So people write “would of.”

There are several other occurrences of similar mistakes: “could of”, “should of”, and “must of”.

It’s wrong. I, along with most grammar Nazis, am irked by it. Don’t do it. Thank you.
