When I Get in Trouble for Speaking My Mind

I thought in America we had freedom of speech? Meaning I can say what I need to say to get my point across? Not in my house. I should be allowed to back myself up when out of four people I am the only one on my side. It’s not like I was saying anything bad or offensive.
