Arguments such as “They inject you with the virus to try and cure you!” are thrown around without any understanding of what vaccines are. They contain trace amounts of the virus so one’s immune system can destroy it to build an immunity. We live in an age where anyone and everyone can post their opinions and fallacious preconceptions about vaccines. While it is true that vaccines can harm, or even kill, the minimal risk is worth it. For example, cervical cancer has a 1:500 chance of mortality while the vaccine itself is 1:145,000.
