This Essay Is Not Available In Your Country

Am I the only one who, upon clicking a link to a video I want to watch, gets a message saying something like “We’re sorry, but this video is not available in your area”?

I honestly don’t care if Vevo or whoever doesn’t like Australians, I’m still going to watch the video. But it’s that much more effort to go to a proxy site first and then the video.

Even worse is when the video isn’t even blocked because of content restrictions from the government, it’s just not available anywhere outside of the UK.

I am not joking when I say that 15% of videos I come across are not available to me.
