“Gay Haters”

There was a post on here about how someone hates homophobes. I completely agree as I am gay myself, but there was a part which annoyed me. The OP said straight people are “conformists”. Does that mean that gay people are gay just to piss others off or be special? No offense, but it bothered me a bit.
