Things That I Hate

People Who Think They’re Better Because Their Schooling

I am in high school, and what I absolutely can not stand is people who think of themselves higher than other people because of how great their grades are. I’ll admit it, I’m a predominately strait D and F student, but that doesn’t make me any less intelligent than the students that get A’s and B’s. School gives you information on subjects, most of which you will never use again, it doesn’t determine whether or not you are a capable, intelligent person… I know plenty of people who didn’t graduate from high school, or even middle school, that or graduated with bad grades, and some of them own businesses, or are much more intelligent than most other people I know… I hate it when college graduates brag about how they went to college, yet at the same time are working a minimum wage job, or have no common sense whatsoever, but still think they’re so much better than everyone else. Also, plenty of people are very intelligent, just they don’t apply themselves well enough, or don’t understand school subjects (like me). That makes them no less intelligent, just not everyone learns the same, or has the same goals in life. Everyone is different…

  1. While education and intelligence are indeed different, the two compliment each other. One needs education to develop intelligence. Conversely, one needs intelligence to interpret education. Someone with a better education than you is better than you in at least one way—they're better educated. That is, of course, not the only thing of importance, and only someone who is more concerned with others than they are themselves will hold their education over someone else—unless, of course, there is a legitimate reason. But I digress.

  2. Or in simplicity there's people like me and My older sister who simply find that schooling in general is easy and/or boring and working outside of school is pointless. I began questioning counselors about why homework is even important and they just told me to sit down, shut-up, and do my work like all their other slave-bots but then I always am for questioning everything I am told to do. I can't stand doing something without reason especially something that disinterests me so much as school does.

  3. In simplicity? Your comment was just as long as the first one!

Just to point out a few things, intelligence is not actually developed, you are born with it, and it does not change throughout your life (that is, after your brain is done with the first 10 years of growing) education is developed and experiance is gained, but intelligence does not change. Also, intelligence is a huge factor in understanding subjects, sorry. I don't think it's fair to put the A and B students on the same level as D and F students. Hard work is something to be proud of as is intelligence. Now the people who act all superior because they went to some fancy rich private school, those people piss me off.
