Things That I Hate

People Who Say the USA Is the Best Country

It bugs me when Americans say that the USA is the best country. As if they have researched and have knowledge of every country on the planet. The USA is not only full of pretentious people, but people here are very ignorant, racist, homophobic, controlled by religion, and so much more. If you are not a normal white Christian, then you are looked down upon. I mean, this country is responsible for many wars over stupid little things like religion. Not everyone wants to believe in a guide book. The USA sucks!

  1. In general, overall, the U.S. is still the best country by my standards, though it is slipping and may not be for long. You are judging the country by its inhabitants, rather than its government, which does remain the most dedicated to protecting individual rights than any other—it's certainly not doing so properly, much of the time, anymore, but it still does uphold some important aspects. Secondly, name one war the U.S. has started for religious reasons. There are none that come to mind. It could perhaps be argued that the current war in Iraq was due to Bush's religious beliefs (I believe there was talk of him saying God told him to invade Iraq). Even if that's so, that's only one. Name others, if you claim there have been many.

  2. Actually, it really depends on what part of the USA you're in....the ignorants and racists tend to be more in the less minority populated, smaller states, and the Southern states, while the homophobic, religion controlled places are in the more close-knit communities and states, like Utah...

I don't think you've ever been to America, or at least anywhere like California or Louisiana, or any other more populated, accepting place...

America is a very varied place, and people are different everywhere...it's not a country easily grouped into one category...

  3. Im not too fond of the attitude of most americans either, but come on man, that last sentence was a bit much. I live in California and as far as I know, racism is non-existant. Hooray for culture! By the way, you had better live in or be from america, otherwise, you have no right to say any of that. Good point though.

  4. Sorry, buddy, but it's called American Pride. We love our country here. This is the land of opportunity- that's why we are loved, and that's not the only reason. Oh, and the Bible is not a guide book. You should try reading it sometime.

  7. I'm from new Zealand. I don't believe that the USA sucks. I like the country very much. Do you not think in other countries there's no homophones or rasists? Trust me there is.
