I’m tired of pouring cereal only to find out that there’s no milk. This has happened to about everyone who loves cereal. It’s no one’s fault, but why does this have to happen? It’s so unnecessary!

Actually, it is someone's fault—the person who didn't restock the supply of milk. That's why it had to happen. It's unnecessary in the sense that it could've been avoided by getting more milk, but it's necessary in the sense that cause and effect exists.
