“You can’t get a boyfriend.â€
I was in the girls’ bathroom, minding my own business in a stall, when I heard a voice from the adjacent stall.
“Who’s in there?â€
I told her my name.
“What grade are you in?â€
I told her that, too.
“Are you fat?â€
“No.â€
“Do you have a boyfriend?â€
“No.â€
“Why?â€
“Because I don’t need one.â€
“Is it because you can’t get one?â€
At that point I was about to rip the crap out of her. Sixth graders don’t need to date and the ones who do are all accepted into society, while I am not accepted by anyone. Why would I need a boyfriend? Do you think that if I wanted to ask someone out I would? No. Absolutely not. It’s always the popular people who date people and are accepted by everyone. I, however, am not suitable for that and I don’t want to be, anyway. Next thing you know second graders will be on eHarmony.

don't worry, girls like that always fail in life. Keep doing what you're doing :)
Don't listen to them. I was(and am still) exactly like you. And I totally agree, this is getting ridiculous! Sixth graders shouldn't be dating. When I was in sixth grade, one of my best friends started dating. She was the first one in our class to have a boyfriend and was worshiped like a queen. Everyone was happy for her, but I thought she just wanted attention. So I found other friends who believed the same things as me. And trust me, I have been called a lesbian many times because I tell people that I don't have a crush and am not currently dating. But I think it's worth it. I like feeling like I am actually acting my age. I have wonderful friends and family who love and accept me for who I am, not whether or not I have a boyfriend. And anyone who thinks I'm stupid or lesbian can suck it!
